Ludwig Moser & Sohne (Karlovy Vary /Carlsbad, 1893-1922), circa 1902. A fine set of thirteen crystal parfait bowls with fifteen matching underplates or saucers, clear, cut and intaglio decorated in the "Bearded Iris" pattern, the parfaits with gilt border decorated with chevron and dot pattern over the optically ribbed bowl symmetrically engraved with a bearded iris to one side, the other with the engraved monogram "HED" for Horace Elgin Dodge, raised on a hexagonal stem with horizontal wedge cuts and terminating on a circle foot finished with a gilt band enhanced with diaper pattern. The matching underplates or saucers also monogrammed "HED" for Horace Elgin Dodge with slightly raised sides having the bearded iris to the center "foot" surrounded by sixteen cut panels. Twenty-eight pieces total. Apparently unmarked. Approximate height of parfaits 3.25", diameter 3.75". Diameter of underplates 5.75". Provenance: Purchased by the current owner directly from the Rose Terrace House Sale, Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan; The Property of the late MRS. ANNA THOMSON DODGE; CHRISTIE’S, September 27, 28 and 29, 1971. Owner was present for the sale and the above lot was offered as an addendum by the family and not included in the auction catalog.
