Italian, late 19th century. A monumental matched pair of Gothic style wrought iron, tole and glass lantern chandeliers with tole acanthus mounted scrolling iron frame joining an octagonal shaped lantern with eight fronted twisted iron spires enclosing conforming glazed panels, each mounted with two openwork quatrefoils, the interior with four lights, electrified, and terminating in eight tole acanthus mounted scrolling iron rods centered with a ball drop. Approximate height 62" with additional 66" chain, diameter 25". Purchased from Jacqueline Adams Antiques, 425 Peachtree Hills Avenue, Suite 7, Atlanta, GA 30305, whereby acquired by a Private Collection in Atlanta, Georgia.
Structurally sound and overall good condition. Some corrosion, rusting and loss of paint to wrought iron spires. Glass panes are probably later. Some of the decorative tole elements with bending and loss of paint. Both lanterns have modified latches to door to access interior bulbs.
