- Lot Description
Likely American, 19th century. Pair of miniature portraits in matching incised and veneered rectangular frames comprising of a depiction of George Washington; and portrayal of Martha Washington. Each oval portrait depicted at bust length after Gilbert Charles Stuart (American, 1755-1828); George Washington with white curled wig, wearing a red coat with white ruffled collar; Martha Washington with white shawl and white and orange bonnet. Each signed at right "Dumont". Overall framed approximately 7.25" x 6.4". Each oval portrait approximately 3.3" x 2.5". Provenance: From the Estate of Mary L. Haugk, Lawrenceville, Georgia.
