Middletown Plate Company (American, 1864-1899). An ornate quadruple plate cake server centered with a Mary Gregory style insert in white cameo enamel depicting a young girl fishing over a light blue glass plaque. The sides decorated with chased floral design and the handle surmounted with ball and ring flanked to each side with a smaller ring hosting a perching bird. Raised on four aesthetic style legs. Marked to the underside "Middletown Plate Company #1822". Approximate height 13", width 10.5", depth 10.5". Provenance: From the Estate of Mary L. Haugk, Lawrenceville, Georgia.
Minor scratches to silver surface. Glass insert is a bit loose resulting in a gap near the left bottom side probably from missing tab at top of foot to secure glass. Glass has possibly been cut down to fit insert.
