Richard Kidwell Miller (American (New York/ West Virginia), 1930-2014). "The Street Musician" - 1956, oil on canvas, signed and dated lower right "Rich Miller '56". Modernist painting depicts a single male figure standing at center with furrowed brow and deep set eyes on a grey complection wearing a striped shirt over pink pants and playing a mandolin or banjo within a small stone courtyard or pathway, with partially obscured painting to the wall behind him reading "Fri. ?ct 5". Framed 39.5" x 23.6". Unframed 38" x 22.4".
Painting on original canvas and has not been relined. No signs of holes, rips or tears. Under black light examination, little to no signs of in-painting or retouching. Excellent condition overall.
