Jesse Jay McVicker (American, 1911-2004), "Along the Cimarron"-1947, aquatint on paper, pencil signed and dated lower right margin, titled in pencil lower center, limited edition noted in pencil lower left margin "28/50". Horizontally aligned work depicting a view of the landscape by the Cimaron River (a tributary of the Arkansas River with headwaters in New Mexico). Landscape marked with trees, low grasses and two horses at right. Framed approximately 19.25" x 25.25". Sight size approximately 11.25" x 17.125". Provenance: From the Private Collection of Benno & Babette Rothschild, Columbus, Georgia.
Examined out of the frame. Overall in excellent condition. Sheet not laid down, attached with two pieces of hinging tape to back mat board along upper edge. No apparent foxing or mat burn, very light even toning overall to sheet. No apparent rips, tears, abrasions, or pin holes. Sheet with deckled lower edge and watermark to lower right margin.
