Lane Furniture Company (American (Alta Vista, Virginia), circa 1970s. A mid century modern black lacquer and maple wood wardrobe chest or chiffonier streamlined in form with five vertically aligned deep drawers to the right, a door to the left opening to a adjustable shelved interior, over a single long deep drawer to the base, al having maple wood pulls on a recessed base. Drawer marked with branded logo 'Lane, Alta Vista, Virginia'. Backside of case with stencil mark '340, 771-16, SER-3983010'. Approximate height 56.12", width 44", depth 18".
Structurally sound. All drawers and door open and shut smoothly. There are areas on the side of case with lacquer loss from chipping. There are surface scratches. One drawer with rubbed surface. The interior door shows scratches. Adjustable shelves with some chipping at the edges. Maple pull shows some rubbing. All wear is commensurate with age and usage.
