• Lot Description
  Hampton Shops (New York) first half 20th century. A marquetry inlaid walnut extending dining table incorporating four additional leaves and having a burl walnut rectangular top with a floral marquetry inlaid cartouche at each corner and cross banded with foliate carved edge raised on heavy S-scrolled and marquetry inlaid legs united by a wavy platform stretcher and centered with two sets of barley twist supports. Approximate height 30.25", width 65.6", depth 45", each leaf an additional 13.5" inches in width; two of the leaves do not have foliate carved edge or skirt. Note: Hampton Shops' is the name which was given for general publicity under the business Grand Rapids Furniture Co. Hampton Shops was located at 34 and 36 West 32 Street, New York. Provenance: Property from the Estate of Dr. Woody Cobbs & Mrs. Honor Cobbs, Atlanta, Georgia.
