Marko Spalatin (Croatian/American, b.1945). 7 prints from the "Nebula" Series- 1987, serigraph in colors on archival paper, limited edition 49/70, each pencil titled, numbered, and signed to lower margin. Seven prints from the series of eight comprising "Nebula I", "Nebula II", "Nebula III", "Nebula V", "Nebula VI", "Nebula VII", and "Nebula VIII", each with a colorful rectangular block to center of white rectangular sheet, the form with rounded corners bearing vertical bands of geometric shapes, some repeating and some forming patterns, in pastel shades. Each unframed sheet size approximately 23" x 29". Provenance: From the Private Collection of Ann Jacob of Highlands, North Carolina.
(1) Nebula I: Overall excellent condition. Even toning throughout. Minor handling creasing to corners. No apparent losses or tears. Under black light examination no apparent repairs. (2) Nebula II: Even toning throughout. Very faint brown discoloration from foxing, commensurate with moisture exposure in upper and lower left corners, not distracting. Very minor handling creasing to margins and corners. Minor scattered surface scratches to printed surface, not distracting. No apparent losses or tears. Under black light examination no apparent repairs. (3) Nebula III: Even toning throughout. Visible brown discoloration from foxing, commensurate with moisture exposure, and correlating very minor undulation in lower right margin. Minor surface scratches to printed surface, not distracting. Minor handling creasing to corners. No apparent losses or tears. Under black light examination no apparent repairs. (4) Nebula V: Even toning throughout. Very minor spot of brown discoloration in upper right corner. Minor surface scratches to printed surface, not distracting. Minor handling creasing to corners. No apparent losses or tears. Under black light examination no apparent repairs. (5) Nebula VI: Even light toning throughout. Faint brown discoloration from foxing, commensurate with moisture exposure at center, upper margin and upper left corner. Scattered surface scratches to printed surface. Extremely minor handling creases to corners. No apparent losses or tears. Under black light examination no apparent repairs. (6) Nebula VII: Overall excellent condition. Even toning throughout. Minor handling creasing to corners. No apparent losses or tears. Under black light examination no apparent repairs. (7) Nebula VIII: Even toning throughout. Minor scattered discolorations to margins. Under black light examination, very minor loss to printed surface in lower left quadrant of printed surface; not distracting in natural light. Minor handling creasing to corners. Under black light examination no apparent repairs.
