Five prints from the series of eight comprising "Chiapas I", "Chiapas II", "Chiapas IV", "Chiapas V", and "Chiapas VII", each with a colorful square block to center of white rectangular sheet, the form with rounded corners bearing geometric Op Art patterning in red, yellow, blue, purple, and gray. Each unframed sheet size approximately 29" x 23". Provenance: From the Private Collection of Ann Jacob of Highlands, North Carolina.
Condition
(1) Chiapas I: Even toning throughout. Very faint brown discoloration from foxing, commensurate with moisture exposure in lower left corner. Scattered surface scrathes to to printed surface, with more significant horizontal scratch in upper quadrants spanning 12”. Minor handling creasing to corners. Handling crease spanning 2.5” in upper right margin, not particularly distracting. No apparent losses or tears. Under black light examination no apparent repairs. (2) Chiapas II: Even toning throughout. Undulation in paper at upper left margin, commensurate with moisture exposure. Very minor handling creasing to corners. Very minor scattered surface scratches to printed surface, not distracting. No apparent losses or tears. Under black light examination no apparent repairs. (3) Chiapas IV: Even toning throughout. Significant crease spanning 9” in lower margin. Minor surface scratches to printed surface, not distracting. Some handling creases to upper margin. Minor handling creasing to corners. No apparent losses or tears. Under black light examination no apparent repairs. (4) Chiapas V: Even toning throughout. Very faint brown discoloration in upper right corner from foxing, commensurate with water exposure. Minor surface scratches to printed surface, not distracting. Minor handling creasing to corners. Small ding to paper surface in lower right margin spanning approximately 0.5”. No apparent losses or tears. Under black light examination no apparent repairs. (5) Nebula VII: Even light toning throughout. Faint brown discoloration from foxing, commensurate with moisture exposure at center at lower left corner with related undulating of sheet in lower quadrants. Scattered dings to upper margin. Scattered surface scratches to printed surface, not distracting. Handling creases to corners. Crease to lower left corner spanning 2.5” vertically. No apparent losses or tears. Under black light examination no apparent repairs.
