Exhibition poster from the July-September 1977 exhibition of Chagall's work at the Musee National Message Biblique Marc Chagall (or "Musee Marc Chagall" or "Marc Chagall Museum") in Nice, France, the poster with a printing of the artist's lithograph entitled "Jacob's Ladder" depicting two angels climbing up a heavenly ladder on a blue background, flanked to top and bottom by typography describing the exhibition. Blind stamp below image of a flying butterfly with menorah to its chest. Framed approximately 31.5" x 22".
Poster not laid down. Rippling throughout sheet from earlier water damage and light handling. No signs of rips, tears or holes. Colors rich and saturated without signs of fading. Light discoloration to edges of sheet, some scattered dirt on white paper. Light toning throughout. No other signs of damage, loss or repair.
