Mappin and Webb (English, founded 1775). A silver plated and cranberry glass honey pot in the form of a honey bee, the bee's head and legs in silver plated copper with the wings on back being hinged and lifting up to reveal opening to top of cranberry glass body with a small opening at center of wings for honey spoon to protrude from. Marked to underside of metal body "Mappin and Webb, Mappin London, Sheffield Plate, W11518, Made in England". Approximate height 3", width 6.5", depth 5.375". Provenance: From the Estate of Mary L. Haugk, Lawrenceville, Georgia.
Very good condition with no chips, cracks or repairs noted. Hinged lid modeled as wings opens and closes smoothly.
