Louis Majorelle (French, Nancy 1859-1926), circa 1900. An important oak Majorelle Art Nouveau dining table in the La Vigne (translated: The Vineyard) pattern, comprising two extension leaves, the molded top surmounting six tapered fluted legs when fully extended, the top each leg decorated with relief carved grape and leaf motifs characteristic of the La Vigne pattern. Approximate height 30" length (with leaves extended) 111", depth 51".
Table is in excellent condition. All decorative carving intact. Very slight abrasions at surface of top molding and lower end of frieze molding. Slight scuffing and abrasions near feet commensurate with age and use.
