- Lot Description
Maitland Smith (American, 1979-), High Point, NC, circa 1999-2002. A fantastic brass, leather, mahogany and burl walnut veneer inlay "architectural" type desk, item #5530-175, having a superstructure modeled as a large building with brass gallery and columns and two drawers and three doors concealing storage, the top inset with gilt tooled brown leather writing surface over a frieze with two drawers, raised on six tapered square legs. Interior of frieze drawer with mounted plaque "MAITLAND-SMITH". Underside also marked for Maitland-Smith, also "HAND MADE Approximate height 46", width 66.6", depth 30.75".
Condition
Structurally sound. Minor scratches and some small chips to edges commensurate with age and usage. Traces of glue residue noted in seams on some of the architectural features. Interior and compartments are clean.
