Continental, 19th century. A mahogany veneered center table, the round white marble top with molded edge surmounting the mahogany veneered frieze with beaded edge over the base comprising a gadrooned column shaft with large ring turnings carved with leaves and c-scroll motifs over a cylindrical base carved with rosettes, raised on four legs heavily carved with c-scrolls and rosette motifs terminating in acanthus scroll feet. Approximate height 29", diameter 46".
Table is structurally sound and in good to very good condition. Marble appears to be of the period. There is a very small spot of marble loss at the convex molding at table top edge. Slight scratches and marble loss of marble visible on the top but not distracting and commensurate with age. Patina appears to be original. Small abrasions to wood at side of circular plinth, not distracting. Slight splitting to concave moldings in wood of shaft, and lifting of veneer. Slight wear to hand carved base & feet commensurate with age.
