French, late 18th century. Louis XVI giltwood carved wall mirror having an elaborate trophy cresting pierced and carved with central floral wreath over a medallion of carved musical instruments flanked by scrolling laurel leaves, bound quivers, flowerheads and draping tassels, the rectangular mirror plate within a conforming frame decorated with a leaf and dart and beaded surround, the sides carved with draping floral tassels. Approximate height 47.37", width 28" (from the carved tassels at side), depth 1.75",
Structurally sound. Scattered cracks with repairs to cresting. Scattered chips with some paint loss particularly to the base of frame.
