Continental, 20th century. Louis XV style walnut carved settee having a slightly arched rail and foliate carved down-scrolled arms enclosing the padded seat above a shell and foliate carved apron raised on cabriole legs carved at the knee with foliage and terminating on hoof feet. The back and seat covered in tapestry style floral velvet and secured with decorative nailhead trim. Approximate height 46.5", width 46" (arm to arm), seat depth 20", seat height 18". Provenance: From the Private Collection of Ann Jacob of Highlands, North Carolina.
Excellent condition. Structurally sound. Fabric is tight to frame and supple with no rips, tears, stains or odors noted.
