- Lot Description
French, first half of 20th century. Louis XV style marquetry inlaid and ormolu mounted mahogany handkerchief with triangular top with curved canted corners with brass banding, scrolled foliate inlaid work on top and on shaped brass banded leaves, table supported on three cabriole legs with ormolu mounts with stylized leaves. Overall approximate height 28", top when open approximately 26.75" x 26.5".
Condition
Structurally sound. Impressed mark in wood to the underside 'MADE IN FRANCE'(see image #3). Marquetry inlay is in good condition. There is a slight drying with minor dulling of finish (see image #5). One leaf lifting with slight warp. Legs with typically wear and minor chipping to finish. Brass banding and ormolu mounts intact.
