- Lot Description
Louis Auguste Moreau (French 1834-1917), "Cherub Hammering Helmet", gilt and patinated bronze table top sculpture, incised "Auguste Moreau" on edge. Charming figural sculpture depicting a nude winged cherub or putto with draped cloth seated on naturalistic ground with leaved sprigs hammering or working on a large, upturned Roman helmet adorned with olive branches and scrolled foliates. Approximate height 5.75", width 5.5", depth 3.75".
Condition
Hammer has been broken in the middle (see image # 3). Minor/minimum wear to surface, good patina.
