Roy Lichtenstein (American, 1923-1997), "Two Figures with Teepee" from "American Indian Theme" series - 1980, etching, aquatint, and engraving on wove paper with four deckled edges, limited edition 12/32, published by Tyler Graphics Ltd., publisher's blind stamp lower left corner of sheet, pencil numbered lower left margin, pencil signed lower center margin, pencil dated lower right margin, verso inscribed below publisher's seal "RL79-486". Graphic print in primary colors with geometric patterning resembling stairs, rope, a river, a pyramid or teepee, and equilateral crosses. Framed approximately 25.75" x 23". Sheet size approximately 23.625" x 20.625". Plate size approximately 9.875" x 8.75". Provenance: From the Private Collection of Benno & Babette Rothschild, Columbus, Georgia. Note: other prints from this edition reside in the permanent collections of the Whitney Museum of American Art (New York City, New York). the New Mexico Museum of Art (Santa Fe, New Mexico), and the Walker Art Center (Minneapolis, Minnesota).Overall in excellent condition. Examined out of the frame (but left attached to mat board). No apparent toning or foxing. Possibly with very light mat burn, but the work was not detached from board in order to preserve condition. Attached to mat board at top of verso with two pieces of hinging tape, and at each side of verso with one piece of hinging tape. Very light rippling of paper due to general handing. No apparent pin holes, rips, abrasions, or losses.
