American, 19th century. A late classical carved mahogany banquet dining table having a circular top opening to receive eight additional leaves over a column support on a quadripartite concave base with four massive hairy paw feet. Approximate height 30.25", diameter 53.75", each additional leaf is 12" wide.
Structurally sound. Small area wood loss with gapping at one end, center seam. There is some wear and dulling to finish in areas on top and was professionally restored in 1980s. The additional 8 leaves were not restores and have a darker finish. Leaves are not skirted. Some missing screws to the underside (see image #7). Scattered nicks, scratches, abrasions and imperfections consistent with age and usage.
