Spaulding & Co. (American (Chicago), 1888-1973). Late 19th/early 20th century. A mahogany tall case clock of large proportions comprising an astragal form hood decorated with a miniature scroll pediment, the front corners with three Corinthian style columns, the paneled hood sides with carved sunbursts, the conforming molded glass hood door revealing the gilt brass clock face decorated with Baroque foliate strapwork, gilt metal stylized Arabic numerals and painted moon phase dial, surmounting the overhanging molding over the beveled glass waist door flanked by two front Corinthian style columns, the paneled sides with beveled glass windows, over a cavetto waist molding surmounting the paneled base with striking mahogany veneered panels, surmounting the cavetto molded base with incised scroll apron, all raised on four squat webbed ball and claw feet. Approximate height 124.5", width 27", depth 18.75".
