American (Georgia), 19th century. Large southern plantation mahogany sideboard with rectangular paneled backsplash over three deep drawers, each with individual locking mechanisms and large turned wood pulls over 4 recessed and paneled cupboard doors (all but 1 retaining locking mechanism) flanked by freestanding turned columns on 4 front bulbous turned feet. Height 54.25", width 73", depth 22.5". Provenance: From the Estate of Mr. & Mrs. H.C. Carson of Atlanta, Georgia.
Structurally sound. Missing lock from central cupboard. Veneer is lifting on frieze drawer faces (see image #5). One column is loose. Exposed screw right side top. Left cupboard door missing wood to the interior side of door, not visible from exterior. Scattered nicks and chips commensurate with age and usage.
