French, Late 19th century. Large pair of gilt metal mounted Paris Porcelain portrait vases, now mounted as table lamps, both of the pair with bleu du ciel grounds having a large facade portrait reserve, respectively, of Marie-Thérèse de Lamballe and Marie-Antoinette, the reverses with well painted reserves of still-life fruit & floral filled baskets, the gilt metal handles modeled as scrolled winged female harpies, mounted on a foliate scrolled rocaille decorated base. Each lamp mounted with custom cream shade with floral applique and decorative gilt pierced finial. Height w/shade 36", width 10.5" (handle to handle).
Both lamps in excellent condition overall. Oxidation & patination to gilt metal. Slight wear to gilt enamel. Small chip to foot of porcelain vase where it meets the metal. Lamp bases would benefit from tightening. Porcelain with no apparent repairs. Shades have scattered areas of discoloration, however, not distracting.
