Chinese, Ming Dynasty Chenghua period mark (1465-1487), likely 20th century. Large Ming Dynasty style porcelain low center bowl with blue and white decoration on tondo of serpentine five clawed dragon with flying phoenix amid cloud scrolls within a lappet border, all blue and white decoration surrounded by Imperial yellow glazed ground, exterior of bowl with similar dragon, phoenix, cloud motif. Marked to exterior top edge of bowl with six character Chenghua reign mark under glaze in blue. Approximate height 3.9", diameter 19.6".
A few scattered flea bites on rim. Scattered small glazing imperfections. Wear to bottom commensurate with age. Under black light examination, no signs of damage, loss or repair. Excellent condition overall.
