- Lot Description
Mason's Ironstone China (English, founded 1813- 1998) 19th century. Large ironstone handled bulbous paneled pitcher with gilt accented undulating rim leading to spout, exterior decorated with transfer and hand painted elements in Asian motif with floral border, and green dragons amid clouds on red ground, scaled dragon handle, interior with dragons against white ground. Underside marked with black Mason's Ironstone China mark. Overall approximate height 13", width (spout to handle) 9.125".
Condition
Wear typical to age and use. Some surface scratching, through glaze to ground. Some wear to glaze, especially to handle. Some areas slightly above foot where shiny overglaze did not adhere. No other visible signs of damage or repair.
