- Lot Description
Manner of Ando Jubei (Japanese, 1876-1953). A large baluster vase with musen or wireless cloisonne and standard cloisonne enamel decoration depicting a tall bamboo shoot beside feathery pink flowers to an ombré blue-to-greeen ground with guilloche texture, with applied brass mouth and foot. Apparently unmarked aside from four concentric rings in the cast to underside of foot. Approximate height 12.125", diameter 6.75". Provenance: From the Estate of Channing S. Jun, M.D., Eastman, Georgia.
Condition
Overall with scattered pitting concentrated to top half of body in the round. Short vertical cracks to enamel below rim beneath the clear enamel layer. Foot and rim with scattered minor dents and dings commensurate with age.
