English, first quarter 19th century. A large four door Georgian mahogany linen press in four sections having a removable projecting cornice over two sets of four paneled doors concealing four wardrobe slides each, the lower case with six short deep drawers, having individual locking mechanisms and wood turned pulls, all raised on a plinth base. Approximate height 84.25", width 76.25", depth 23".
Structurally sound. Appears to be a marriage. Cornice with chips and wood loss to edge. Cracking and lifting to veneered frieze. Upper interior with some runners replaced and/or moved for the wardrobe slides in both sides. The catch for each lock is missing on both sides. Added bracket hardware to interior top for closet rods. Wardrobe slides with scattered stains to base. Left side of wardrobe missing two slides. Lower section appears to be older. There are different wood turned pulls on the drawers; one missing pull and one broken pull. Drawer interior bases with shrinkage, replaced runners. Base plinth with wood loss on left side and white paint spatter on right side. Both lower right and left sides with horizontal shrinkage.
