Chinese, 19th century. Large porcelain pitcher with small mouth with gilt accented rim and florals on end of spout above tapered body decorated with light green C scroll bordered medallions containing scenes with courtly figures and birds and flowers amid prunus fruit clusters, surrounded by scrolled foliates, flowers, fruit and butterflies on gilt ground, faux bamboo form handle with gilt highlighting. Unmarked. Overall approximate height 14.75", diameter of foot 5.6". Provenance: From the Private Collection of Ms. Kathleen Morrison, Alpharetta, Georgia.
Light wear to enamels and gilt accents throughout commensurate with age and handling. Light wear to bottom commensurate with age and light use. Scattered glazing imperfections throughout. Under black light examination, one small area on body with minor retouches on hairline (stable and small, under .5" long). No other signs of damage, loss or repair.
