Leonard Baskin (American, 1922-2000). "Yom Kippur Angel" - 1978, etching and aquatint on BFK Rives wove paper with four deckled edges, limited edition 121/150, pencil numbered lower left margin 121/150, pencil signed lower right margin. Reference: Fern/O'Sullivan 674. Black and white print depicting a nude male angel at hip length with full feathered wings to either shoulder, hair to his chest and groin, and a sweet expression to his inverted teardrop shaped face, at lower left with an ovular cartouche inscribed with "Yom Kippur" in Hebrew characters above "1978 Baskin". Framed approximately 48" x 36.25". Sheet size approximately 41.5" x 29.75". Provenance: From the Private Collection of Benno & Babette Rothschild, Columbus, Georgia.
Not examined out of the frame in order to preserve condition - sheet is mounted floating within the frame with all edges in view. Light even toning overall to sheet, no apparent foxing or mat burn. Light rippling to sheet commensurate with handling. No apparent losses, abrasions, or tears.
