Julius Bloch (American, 1888-1966). "Still Life with Daffodils", oil on canvas, signed upper left "Julius Bloch". Painting depicts a naturalistic vase of flowers with daffodils, daisies, lilies, and garden roses in a white ceramic low pitcher set upon a square dark wood table, with a neutral tone drape in background. Framed approximately 25.75" x 21.75", unframed approximately 24" x 20.
Oxidation visible on back of canvas as well as scattered glue and a large patch. Under black light examination, scattered retouches, particularly at area on red flower and white peony (below and to right of pink flowers at top) where the work appears to have been punctured (area has been professional retouched and is not particularly distracting or glaring). Scattered minor retouches throughout not obstructing or intersecting signature and not particularly noticeable (even under black light). Some light craquelure on petals with thicker paint, however paint layer stable and not lifting.
