- Lot Description
Jeff Rouse (American, 20th Century-Contemporary) "Footprints Back", patinated bronze, signed on base "Rouse". Figural sculpture depicting nude male with left arm extended overhead, with eyes closed and mouth open, with a single set of footprints on bronze base attached to slab of white stone. Inspired by the anonymous poem of the same name. Overall including base approximately 25.75" x 14.25" x 14.5".
Condition
Casting appears to be original. Patination even throughout. Base appears to be later. Base with uneven edges. Middle of base with darkened circle correlating to edge of sculpture, cause by rotation of sculpture on base. With a few small surface scratches and abrasions. No signs of pitting, dents or dings.
