A group of two Japanese items comprising of a hand painted and gilt saucer with decoration depicting Mt. Fuji in background with a figural scene in front having a man on bridge speaking to a man in a structure, with three clusters of gilt cloud scrolls on a rust ground around the rim of the saucer, marked to underside with 4 calligraphic painted mark, approximately 1" tall x 5 3/8" diameter; and a Pigeon Blood cloisonne enamel vase with underglaze decoration on front of a bird sitting on a bamboo branch as another bird flies above, with white metal rim and foot, with wooden five footed stand, unmarked, without stand approximately 7" tall x 7.25" diameter at widest point.
Ginbari vase silver mouth rim shows a couple of dents, possible solder mark. Scattered minute flea bites, not distracting or readily seen. Interior ring foot has manufacturing flaw where glaze has pulled away and not filled ring. Exterior foot at ring with small hole. Bottom of foot with hairline fractures (probably stress) under glaze. Minimal wear to glaze. Saucer with wear to metal rim. Tight hairline at very top of saucer in cloud scroll. Crazing consistent with age.
