Jan B. Balet (German/Swiss, 1913-2009), "Die Letzten Minuten (The Last Minute)", oil and assemblage on canvas board, signed lower right. Figural illustrative painting depicting four horse jockeys speaking with horse racing sport spectators, male jockeys adorned in colorful clothing, characterized as substantially smaller in size to men in black coats and hats, white fence in foreground and white stadium topped with round clock with white dial inset in canvas board.Label on verso of canvas board with inscribed title in pencil and artist's name in black ink. Framed approximately 22" x 30". Unframed approximately 16" x 23.25".
Condition
Excellent condition with no signs of in-painting. Minor scattered speckles in top fifth of work likely from mist sprayed liquid--would likely disappear with light professional cleaning. No other signs of damage, loss or repair.
