Italian, Late 19th/Early 20th century. Neoclassical style chest of drawers composed of walnut and satinwood with rectangular top with chamfered corners with marquetry and string inlaid decoration with shaped and undulating borders and medallions, similar motif on drawer fronts of two long pull out drawers with brass hardware pulls with rocaille, scrolled and scaled motif, sides of chest with similar medallion motif, overall supported on angled tapered square legs. Unmarked. Overall approximate height 33.5”, width 47.75”, depth 23.75”.
Structurally sound, with slight wobble. With slight lifting and separating at seams throughout. Tabletop with some lifting and separating of inlay. Tabletop with scattered, minor surface scratches and abrasions. Some lifting at edges of tabletop. Minor worming to interior of drawers, not visible when closed, not apparently active. With gapping in one drawer commensurate with shrinkage.
