- Lot Description
Italian Baroque style ebonized walnut figural console table with shaped undulating green marble set within a conforming apron highly carved and pierced with multiple scrolling large acanthus leaves centered with a masculine figure atop a lion, probably depicting Hercules and the Nemean Lion. Height 39.5", width 60.5", depth 28.5".
Condition
No missing foliage (angle of carving makes it appear that something is missing). Multiple repairs to vulnerable parts of carving including foliage. Scattered chips and paint loss. Prior wormwood damage, not extensive or active. Missing flower head at center of apron (see image 6). Small piece of foliage missing on top right. Scattered areas of missing molding below the marble (see image 3). No chips, cracks, or repairs to marble.
