Italian, Early 20th century. A carved alabaster table lamp comprising a domed painted stone shade, the top section of the dome with faux marble painted decoration, base of the dome with carved painted leaf pattern and carved faux curtain swag trim over the alabaster base comprising an alabaster column over a stone bench, on which a stone maiden sits in Empire or Regency dress, perhaps an allegorical figure, with wide-brim hat slung over her neck, holding a bunch of roses in her left hand on her lap and a sheaf of white in her left, over a diamond pattern carved floor, raised on a cavetto molded plinth. Approximate height 23", width 8.9", depth (of base) 5.1".
Repair with loss at base of the columnar support. Minor flea bite to hair on head. Chip with loss at corner front. Small chip to dress. Over painting or possible traces of glue residue to interior shade at base, evident under blacklight.
