Chinese, 20th century. A large and impressive Tianqiuping or globular form porcelain bottle vase with allover blue on green interlocking swastikas, a Chinese symbol for auspiciousness, with a band of pink, yellow, red, and blue lappets to the round foot, the bulbous body with two opposing shaped cartouches bearing figural scenes with courtly men and women set in landscapes, the opposite sides of body with fan and ruyi shaped cartouches filled with hand painted landscape scenes and depictions of flowering branches, the shoulder with a band of ruyi heads alternating with lappets and filled with peony and chrysanthemum blossoms, the tall narrow neck with red and yellow Shou symbols, the Chinese character for longevity, surrounded by bats, the mouth with a band of ruyi heads and a band of meandering key. Apparently unmarked. Approximate height 24", diameter 14.5".
