Likely Chinese. A large and impressive amber specimen carved in two pieces as a striding panther or leopard atop a naturalistic rocky base, the cat in very deep solid red amber, the base in heavily included orange to red amber. Unmarked. Approximate height 3.25", width 4.625", depth 3.5". Total approximate weight 282.8 grams. Note: tested by a GIA certified agent as amber.
Small light surface scratches from light handling. Some visible dust and dirt in carved crevices on panther--would likely benefit from professional cleaning. No signs of breaks, losses, chips, or distracting scratches.
