Switzerland, probably Brienz, circa 1880. An impressive Black Forest carved 'Fruits of the Hunt' wall clock, the cartouche shaped frame carved in high relief and surmounted with leafy cresting over a scrolled pediment, the frieze centered with the carved profile of dog's head above a stepped circular dial with cartouche shaped enamel on metal or copper Roman numerals and pierced hour and minute hands, flanked to each side of the dial are hunt trophies in the form of a ribbon tied game bird and rabbit amidst an array of pierced branches and vines, the base with carved leafy cluster of fruit and nut. Approximate height 33", width 24", depth 5.5".
Overall very good condition. French movement, hour strike on bell. No key present. Case with prior worming. Scattered minor restorations. Aged varnish. Very minor age cracks consistent with age.
