Albert "Al" Hirschfeld (American, 1903-2003), "Fred Astaire in Royal Wedding", etching on paper, pencil signed lower right margin, noted as a limited edition artist's proof lower left margin "A.P. V/XV". Work on paper depicting a caricature of actor, dancer and entertainer Fred Astaire in four different dancing positions in a stark room recalling his role in the 1951 musical comedy, "Royal Wedding" where his character, Tom Bowen dances on the ceiling in walls in his solo, "You're All the World to Me". Unframed sheet size approximately 24.5" x 28".
Unframed. Sheet with four deckled edges exhibiting minor toning within area of the plate. Sheet with minor rippling and wear to edges commensurate with general handling. Top margin with two remnants of tape or adhesive residue. No apparent rips, losses, pinholes, foxing, mat burn, or abrasions.
