Henry Brewer (British (England), 1866-1950). "Piazza San Marco" - 1932, watercolor and ink on paper, signed and dated lower right. Very finely rendered Impressionist watercolor depicting Piazza San Marco in Venice, Italy, the viewer looking toward Basilica San Marco on the opposite side of the piazza across a large crowd of people, the figures loosely rendered in suggestion of motion, with structures to right and left of the famous cathedral casting a shadow across the lower half of the facade at dusk under clear light blue skies. Label to verso of frame "Bonhams & Butterfields 2003 19248" and a second paper label to verso of page support "The Fine Art Society, New Bond Street, London" above information about the painting. Framed approximately 21.5" x 28.5", sheet size 17.375" x 24.25".
Watercolor connected to mat board with older hinging tape on all sides. Light even toning to sheet. Little to no signs of foxing. Sheet without visible holes, rips or tears. One small dot on left side of building, possibly a stain. No other signs of damage, loss or repair.
