Heavy archaic Chinese patinated bronze lidded urn later converted into table lamp. Base with domed square lid with raised ribs above panels with two birds facing one another on spiral decorated ground; lower portion of urn with raised ribs, leaf tip motif, birds, and other creatures and ram's head mounts, supported on an integral rectangular base. Lamp with round finial, champagne colored silk shade. Overall approximate height 30", diameter of shade 17.25", lamp base width 7.4", lamp base depth 6.7".
Scattered areas with visible soldering. Some areas, particularly on edges, with apparent casting imperfections. Some scattered areas with pitting and scratches to metal. Wear to patina on raised elements. Urn later converted into electrified lamp. Lamp not disassembled to view interior of urn. No other signs of damage, loss or repair.
