After Tiffany Studios, contemporary. A drop head jeweled dragonfly leaded glass and gilt bronze table lamp after the original created around 1910, depicting dragonflies in nine repeats at base of shade; dragonflies have outspread wings rendered in filigree, with heads dropping below the lower rim of the shade; upper shade with mottled red and autumnal background glass; bodies of insects amethyst, wings blue with red jewel eyes; shade has large green jewels and smaller amber and green ones. Shade is supported on a gilt bronze Empire style base having a six bulb light cluster (unmarked) with Weber paddles over a pierced, scrolled and foliate molded standard issuing four imbricated down scrolled legs resting on a quadripartite concave plinth. Shade is impressed 'TIFFANY STUDIOS NEW YORK 1507-12'. Lamp base impressed 'TIFFANY STUDIOS NEW YORK 550. Approximate height of lamp shade 10.3", diameter of shade 22". Approximate height of lamp base 28.5", width of base 11". Provenance: From the Estate of Channing S. Jun, M.D., Eastman, Georgia, whereby acquired by present owner.
Overall good stable condition. Head cap does not fit lamp and rests on top. Scattered small fractures to glass segments primarily located to dragonflies; stable and tight to frame. No missing glass segments or jewels. Oxidation with some pitting and small areas of small loss of finish to base. One socket loose with exposed wiring. One socket with missing covering. Fraying to areas of Eagle electrical cord.
