Chinese, 20th century. Group of 4 faux ivory carved figural pieces depicting an ancestral male and female riders on horseback wearing elaborate dress and each carrying a sword mounted on a rectangular plinth base decorated with scrolling foliage along with a pair of carved phoenix with lotus on circular wood stands. Riders height 12.25", width 8.75", depth 3.75". Phoenix height 13.75" diameter of base 3.,75". Provenance: From the Estate of Jane O. Day of Atlanta, Georgia.
Some discoloration and yellowing to all pieces. There is a crack on top of plinth base of male rider. Both phoenix birds have chips to top of head, beaks, and feathers on back. There is small separation and minute chips to lotus flowers.
