American, 19th / 20th century. Group of three Peace Flasks (or powder flasks, or rifle flasks; successor to powder horns), each with body with eagle looking to the left towards the leaves of the olive branch in its talons, with clasped hands within a circular sunburst with thirteen points, sunburst surrounded by a circle of twenty-six stars, with trophy base decoration consisting of inscription "US" within a canted shield, surrounded by four crossed flags, cannons, swords, muskets, bugles, pikes and halberd, with triangular carrying "rings". Group comprising "Ames Peace Flask", 19th century, copper / brass alloy, produced by N.P. Ames (American, fl. 19th century), with inspector's mark or monogram at neck "WS"; "Peace Flask", 20th century, brass, inscribed on priming-spout or charger spout "MADE IN", with screw mechanism spout; and "Peace Flask", 20th century, brass, no apparent inscriptions, with screw mechanism spout. "Ames Peace Flask" from bottom of collar to base approximately 6.5". "Peace Flask" from bottom of collar to base approximately 6.75". "Peace Flask" from bottom of collar to base approximately 6.7".
