American, 19th / 20th century. Group of three Peace Flasks (or powder flasks, or rifle flasks; successor to powder horns), each with body with eagle looking to the left towards the leaves of the olive branch in its talons, with clasped hands within a circular sunburst with thirteen points, sunburst surrounded by a circle of twenty-six stars, with trophy base decoration consisting of inscription "US" within a canted shield, surrounded by four crossed flags, cannons, swords, muskets, bugles, pikes and halberd, with triangular carrying "rings". Group comprising "Ames Peace Flask", 19th century, copper / brass alloy, produced by N.P. Ames (American, fl. 19th century), with inspector's mark or monogram at neck "WS"; "Peace Flask", 20th century, brass, inscribed on priming-spout or charger spout "MADE IN", with screw mechanism spout; and "Peace Flask", 20th century, brass, no apparent inscriptions, with screw mechanism spout.
