Continental, 20th century. Collection of two carved and stained wood figural inkwells of dog form comprising of a larger terrier (possibly a Wheaten Terrier) with hinged forehead that opens to reveal circular niche for inkwell within, yellow eyes, and collar at bottom; and a boxer with yellow eyes, under bite and collar at bottom. Both unmarked. Terrier approximate height 7.25", width 6", depth 7.75". Boxer approximate height 6", width 4.5", depth 6".
Very good condition overall. Boxer with two indentations to right cheek and small wood fill on side of jaw on right side, minor wood loss on bottom near edge, not visible when resting on table. Shaggy terrier with no signs of damage, loss or repair. Each with light wear to patina commensurate with age and handling. Each without glass inkwell liner. No other signs of damage, loss or repair.
