British and German, 18th century. A group of two pewter chargers or low bowls and one tappit-hen, the plates each of round form with reeded wavy edges comprising one with 5 lobes by Johann Martin Dutzky (German, registered 1740) monogrammed twice to rim "F.M. A" and "F.J.S.R", and one with 6 lobes by an unknown London maker marked with a crowned rose and maker's mark with a Figure of Justice holding a scale and a sword below two letters possibly E and M; the British tappit hen being of typical turned form with domed hinged lid and loop handle and bearing monogram to one side of neck "A H". German approximate diameter 11.75". English approximate diameter 11.625". Tappit-Hen approximate height 10.5", width across handle 6", diameter of base 5". Note: Tappit-Hen acquired by the Estate of Dr. Woody Cobbs and Mrs. Honor Cobbs, Atlanta, Georgia from Jack Casimir Ltd., London, England, in a private sale on September 3, 1983.
