Georgia O'Keeffe (American, 1887-1986). "Georgia O'Keeffe: A Studio Book", limited signed edition 56 of 200, published by The Viking Press (New York) in 1976. A limited edition publication of the artist's works signed on the limitation page in black ink, comprising a large format bound book including 108 full color plates of her works as well as a black and white photograph of the artist in her pottery studio, also including an essay by the artist about her work, a chronology of her life and career, and listing of details about each work in the publication. Limited edition set also comprising a portfolio of 16 full color loose plates in a wove paper clamshell covered by a black and white photograph of the artist and her dog atop a hill by Juan Hamilton (American, b.1945). The book and portfolio to a heavy clamshell box covered in black woven linen cloth, blindstamped to lower right front board with a facsimile of the artist's signature. Clamshell approximately 17.75" x 13" x 2.125". Book approximately 16.375" x 12.25" x 1.125". Loose plates each approximately 16" x 12".
Clamshell case and book binding exhibiting some fading and minor staining. The colophon with allover toning, minor foxing, and rippling, the corners with minor bending commensurate with general handling. Collection of prints accompanied with an extra copy of "Mule Deer Skull with Flowers" apparently having been stored on top of stack and exhibiting greater amount of toning and foxing than the rest of the prints, these remaining prints with minor toning and foxing. The book signature sheet with several large spots of foxing, the signature also bleeding outward from itself onto the page and through to the two title pages of the book. Remainder of book pages with variable amounts of toning.
