Georges Doussot (French, 20th century), "Le Funambule" (The Tightrope Walker)-1967, acrylic on canvas, signed and dated lower right. Loose and abstracted figural painting depicting five young girls on a city sidewalk with bobbed black hair wearing pink dresses, two of the girls with backs to viewer drawing on the white wall, the illustrations being incised into the paint surface, with three other girls seated side by side on the sidewalk to near foreground and facing the viewer. Inscribed to verso of canvas "Le Tunambule" over "G. Doussot 1967", and "858" within a circle. Paper label to verso of frame "Cadres D'Arte, Encadrements, Maison Franco, 19 Rue Pastorelli, Nice", and ink stamp to verso of stretcher bearing same information as paper label. Framed approximately 16.75" x 20.5". Unframed approximately 9.375" x 13".
